The Most Momentous Day

12th February, 2018 was the most momentous day for the students of Saifiyah Girls School.

15 students from Saifiyah Girls School, along with 10 students from Husamiyah and 10 from Saifiyah Boys School, travelled to Islamabad to meet the Prime Minister Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other officials.

It was a most fascinating moment for the students and the teachers who accompanied them.

Students as representatives of the Dawoodi Bohra Community and Pupils of Saifiyah Girls School visited the Prime Minister office where they got a chance to interview Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. Students were fascinated and mesmerized by the huge building and surroundings of the Prime Minister house.

While interviewing him, they showed their full potential and confidently interacted with the Prime Minister. They had an exciting and enriching conversation with him about his personal life. They also questioned about educational, infra structure, recreational and talent development in Pakistan, in a very friendly environment. He was very happy and amazed by the students’ confidence level and the kind of questions they asked.

The Prime Minister also cherished and admired the efforts of AQA Maula Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (T.U.S) and Dawoodi Bohra Community in the field of education. Students’ were honoured when they got a chance to be photographed with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

MNA Mrs. Rumina Khursheed Alam also complimented our students’ boldness and presented souvenirs to them.

During refreshment they had a lively conversation with Mr. Ali Jehnagir in a friendly environment. Then they visited the Cabinet Hall where Mr.Ali Jehnagir explained about what a cabinet hall is and how the seating is arranged according to the post of a person.

As a friendly gesture he asked who wants to be the future Prime Minister. He invited few of the students to sit on the Prime Minister’s seat and asked to share views about what they will do when they become Prime Minister. It was an interactive and lively session.

Then they got the chance to visit the Parliament House. Here they were shown a video about Pakistan’s History. Students strolled down the annals of the constitutional history of Pakistan, absorbing the aura of the struggle for democracy through varying political climate. This idea has been manifested in Gali-e-Dastoor [the Constitution Gallery] and the adjacent courtyard on the first floor of the Parliament House. This was a sort of tribute to the several political workers, working journalists, civil society, lawyers and hard-working Pakistanis, who participated in the struggle for democracy and sacrificed their lives.

They also witnessed statues made up of Wax figures of different political personalities. It was about two and a half hours unforgettable moment for these students. No doubt it was a significant day and a proud moment for our students who got a chance of a life time to meet our Prime Minister.

The trip ended on visiting the Pakistan Museum of National History and enjoying rainy weather and spectacular sights full of greenery and natural beauty.

We THE SAIFIYANS offer Sajadat us Shukar in Hazrat Imamia Nooraniyah for this memorable day. May Allah grant AQA Maula (TUS) long and healthy life till the day of Qayamat. We are much grateful to Janab Shk Kumail Bhai and Baisaheba Havrah Baisaheba for providing us with such a marvelous and memorable opportunity.
