World Food Day – 16th October 2020

Food is a natural resource, and the source of life, the importance of which is engrained in Islam. The COVID-19 global health crisis has been a time to reflect on things we truly cherish and our most basic needs. These uncertain times have made many of us rekindle our appreciation for a thing that some take for granted and many go without food.

To celebrate the World Food Day, students of Saifiyah Girls School attended a program to increase awareness of the Food problem around the world, and the Zero Hunger initiative.

Students also participated in an active discussion on ‘Grow, Nourish, Sustain – Together’ and then practically implemented it by making Kalamra together and serving it to teachers, faculty members and their neighbours. Our little wonders also participated in making ice-cream cones, strawberry cards, fruit salad and learning the importance of sharing and teamwork!
